That made me laugh I've had the F15-Eagle for what must be a couple of years now, perhaps more and it's a great looking model but anything like this is never going to be over-used on my pc. The HUD didn't display particularly well (for me) in 2D and the VC version took so many FR's.. I had to remove it. Think I bought the 'lite' F14 too but it's been a long time ago and probably an old model now. Once in a while, I get the urge to fly something 'different' but it's not that often and more often than not.. it will be Rick's old T5 or Meatbox or DG's Hunter.
It's a great sale but even 5 bucks would be a waste for me because I'd rarely fly em I'd sooner resist the temptation for long enough and blue all the 'not spent' $5 on a piece of scenery
1) Load F-14, slew mode to sea (or San Diego Bay as I have here)
2) Load USS Nimitz at F-14 point
3) Slew mode Tomcat away from Nimitz to different position/altitude
4) Try & land
5) and repeat
Like DaveB, wasn't sure if I needed these but l I thought I'd have a look and decided. But:
We would like to thank everyone for their support in embracing our recent sale, however, we are ceasing trading on our store just temporarily whilst we work through reconciling store orders today that have been placed over the last 48 hours.
Rest assured, that once that has been done and we are back up to date, the store will be back available for purchases. We are hoping that this will take no more than 12-24 hours to complete.
ALL orders placed during this time are not processed and will be deleted.
My memory span is such that 24 hours from now I will have forgotten about this. So saved $20 and won't be able to remember!
Still down - can someone wake me up when the site is online again? Poor old David - I wonder how many emails he has had as a result of this? All a case of RTFM I guess - or in this case webpage!
(Gone for the A10 and the Vulcan - both look spiffy to me!)

If the good old days were as bad as today - then we are up to our necks in it!
I get up early or go to bed late - but IRIS is still having problems - I bet the second I log off it opens for business then has to shut just before i login again!
O well - just have to keep trying!!

I have been getting (many) e-mail updates from Dave - it's all about his monthly limits with Paymate (I'd never heard of them before this sale - my previous IRIS products were all from SimMarket or similar).
I got the distinct impression from the last e-mail that this thing had hit the final limit.
Although why that should affect Paypal sales, I've no idea.
Of course, the half price sale continues at online FS stores.

This is an email I got from David. It looks like once again they have exceeded the number of orders they are allowed each month by the company that handles their credit card payments.
So he has closed the shop door while he clears out unprocessed orders, and gets the transaction quota allowance raised again. Then the sale will be back on.
Further to my previous e-mails informing you, our valued customers of the state of play regarding the IRIS Christmas sale, I would like to state that the sale has resulted in exceeding our allocated monthly limits again!
As some of you may or may not know, a few days ago, we announced a 5 dollar 12 hour promotion, however in the latter hours of the promotion, our store hit the monthly limit we were allowed to transact through our merchant providers who handle our credit card transactions. 'www.paymate.com'
The following morning, after a phone call by myself to the team at Paymate, we were granted a temporary extension to the limits and we announced that we would lengthen the original 5 dollar sale so that customers who couldn't take advantage of it through no fault of their own, could purchase our products.
However, we found out yesterday, that during the extended sale, we had once again reached our transaction limit that paymate had extended for us. This unfortunately could not be extended further and as such, trading ceased temporarily on our store until our monthly limits reset to zero on the 17th of December.
Now many of our customers are finding that they are still able to put through orders on our storefront and are confused as to what this means.
As the store stands at this moment, I am waiting for our monthly payment limits to reset (It is now 12.55am on the 17th here in Australia, but I am unaware of the time that the Paymate servers reset their monthly accounts). As such, ALL orders currently placed through our store, with the exception of paypal orders, which are manually processed and can take longer, are NOT processed.
This means, that no credit card details are taken from you, no payments are made to us, and no product will be provided. In fact, orders made currently will be deleted from the store so not to cause further confusion to you, our customers.
Whilst this information is on the front page of the store, I am aware that customers coming to the store from a relevant product page are not being notified of this, and for that I can only apologise for any confusion caused.
I have now finished auditing the store database, and referencing it with Paymate and Paypal records and as such, any duplicate or non-approved orders have been removed from the store database.
I would kindly ask you all to quickly double check to ensure that your orders are correct. I have had to work my way through a large amount of data and whilst I do my best to ensure accuracy in the orders, I am human and as such have been known to make mistakes. :-)
If you have made a paypal order, please ensure that you have received an e-mail from myself or the store system informing you of a download approval. If you have not received notification of a download approval, please contact me directly via return e-mail.
To those customers who have e-mailed me over the last couple of days regarding the store, I will do my best to answer your questions directly, however if your query is answered in this e-mail, please let me know so that I do not duplicate my response and take up any of your time unnecessarily.
Finally, for those of you happy to 'brave' the microphone/headset, I am currently setting up a 'Ventrilo' server for IRIS team members, and customer support which can be used to get hold of me for queries, sales support and a general chat should you feel so inclined. Those wishing to know the connection details, can find out through our facebook page shortly. (http://www.facebook.com/irissimulations)
