To be fair to BA they considered it a cost they could no longer bear and they did give considerable notice of their withdrawing support.

It was said more than a year before what was going to happen but no one made much of a move until just before the cull occurred.

It is to BA credit that they financed them as long as they did and if it hadn't been for them the exhibits would probably never been saved in the first place.

Yes, it was wrong that they were broken up but other arrangements could have been made if anyone wanted to, but as usual the massses who were vociferous in what should be done but not keen on actually paying for anything themselves sat back and expected someone else to step in.

Wish I had taken a few more but didn't know then what was to become of the collection. I do remember being absolutely gobsmacked about the accuracy of DM's Trident panel when I saw the real thing :)
