Not tried this little beauty yet, but by all accounts it looks fantastic, downloading later today.

Dave, I had the same problem with the Ark Royal, it decided to go snorking!! All I did was to take it out of the Add-On Scenery by deleting it then re-installed it. Bit of a pain as had to reset my wires, but it worked.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel :)

I wouldn't mind so much if the problem had been there from the outset as it was with so many other poor unfortunates but it's been fine.. up until I saw it yesterday. The effects are all still in the right place.. just that the deck has suddenly dropped to sea level :'( I'll check out the 4 others I have (Norway.. U.S. .. Gib and far east) ;-)

Steve, on the start up effect, if viewed from different angles, the smoke seems to come out from several different places! Is this intentional? Is there also a way that the effect could be built into the start sequence via the buttons or CNTLplusE start shortcut?

I have no troubles with the 'shine' running an ATI card.

On a personal matter of taste, I am not a big fan of the 'flames' appearing inside the orrafices. To me they look a touch 'Noggin the Nog' in appearance.
Hello Trev,

the smoke comes from the cartridge vent, and unfortunately, the engine exhausts to a lesser extent as well. What other places are you seeing it emit from? As for startup, it is actually rigged to the startup sequence, so if you smoke system is on, and you start up via crtl-E, you should see the emission.

As for the flames, I'll admit, I had to look up Noggin the nog on You Tube. Maybe I'll tone them down a touch.

You must be younger than I thought Steve! Noggin on You Tube eh? must pop over and check it out!!

I will try the start up again, I seem only to get to work on pushing 'I' twice, getting smoke on the second push  If you pan around (in outside view) the smoke appears around the lower undersides, for and aft (Navy term  ) of the main burst. I assumed it only emerged from a purpose meant exhaust for the starter. Mind you the nearest thing to this I have experience of is the Avpin starters of FAA Wessex 3's. They sounded like the old Morecombe and Wise song (You Tube again? ) 'Bang...Woo...Yatataa'. :worried:

Dave, Re the Ark problem your having, might be worth checking in your addon scenery list in the sim to make sure the OF files are
at the very top of the list. They always have to be at the top to make it work.

That is a strange one.

Hello Matey :)

Well.. the OF files have always been above the other Ark bits but haven't been 'Priority 1' for a very long time and have still worked fine. I checked em ALL today and they've all gone flat :'( Enterprise.. just a few miles northeast of the Devon ship is still fine.. just all my Arks that seem to have been hit! I'll get there in the end.. by hook or by crook! :RN: I even changed the FSUIPC back just in case it was that but sadly.. no change

I have the Sea Hawk working OK in FSX. I have replaced the FS98 gauges with FSX gauges. I have addded Simicons to toggle all the panels, the map, the ATC, and the keyboard. I have added camera views. I have fixed the A/P so that the IAS and MACH hold work now. I moved the rear light to the rear which I found was on the right hand side at the rear of the plane. I have added pitch and rudder trim gauges. The plane is really neat to fly. Thanks for it!!!!! Best regards, Bob.

Glad to hear you are getting on well with it, Bob. A little confused about you moving that rear light to the right rear of the model - it should have been there in the first place... You're saying it was not there for you?
