Hi Tony

I did that this afternoon to try and cure my oddities

When I went to install it said I had hidden some updates and offered to find and restore them

but it couldn't find them

So I un istalled all the updates I had already and then went to re install all the updates I needed

SP3 was the first and after that it updated all I needed just failing on a security update for SP1 which it decided it didn't need

So I am up to date now and maybe wasn't before due to those hidden which I never hid :dunno:

Did it cure your problems?? Also did you need to download the patch for AMD CPU's?

Hi Tony

I'm not sure if it cured anything because I couldn't return exactly as I wanted to before July :-( and so could not see if the problems reoccurred, but I am not getting the error I was when trying to update windows.

I will only known after a few days to see if any of the odd FS things still happen :dunno:

The only difference I see is the GPS now has itallicised text of a different style, quite what that has to do with SP3 is beyond me but it has happened

I was not aware of a patch :worried: and I have not noticed anything that needs one :worried: but perhaps if there was an issue that has been addressed in the SP3 download??. :dunno:

What is supposed to happen....or perhaps not happen??? :worried:

On certain non-intel machines the system would not boot up just loop round, but if it worked for you forget about it as if it did not you would not be reading this reply  I think Dell were hit hardest..maybe wrong, it is the only thing stopping me going to SP3..

One thing I did notice was SP3 took an age to install and at one time I thought it had frozen because there was no activity on the bar, but it was just taking it's time....about 30mins I think it was.

Certainly no issues like they are mentioning

Thanks for that link it could be very useful to some
