Does anybody know when the (under-used) Skysim forum will be back, now would seem a good time for new purchasers (that are not members here) to start using it. Any info given out to fix these problems can be read by others and cut down on correspondance! :doho:

I wish I could contribute something positive to these queries, but I am back here in the FS stoneage and likely to remain there until I am dug up by Phil Harding of Time Team.' Oh! agh! will yo look at thaat Tony, I do believe that was some form of scraper or hand axe or it could be something even older......... like FS9!'

I didn't tell you to reinstall your ATI drivers or anything i just said reboot your PC.

:dunno:

it looks like i am left here to try and fix this as it also seems Gordon has packed up and gone home.
it was deemed by those above me that i was not to be given direct access to anything useful in helping today go smoothly.
it's not been a good day for me as it seems my attempt to please as many as possible has been destroyed by problems beyond my control

Welcome to 'our' world  .

Sounds like just about every release I've been involved with and folks wonder why developers have short ( barely existant ) fuses LOL, even after all this time I've never worked out how this situation arises, but arise it does with out fail, in time you will learn that this is situation normal for a payware release, dont fight it, just roll with it, it always comes right in the end, always, with out fail.

Up till now others let you do what you do best, now its time to let them do what they do best, it is hard to accept, but sometimes things really are outside of your control and fretting about them isnt going to make them go away or get fixed any faster :).

To be fair I havent yet seen the ultiamte wind up question posted, the inevitable "so ?, whats next then ?", aaaaghhhh if only you could reach through the screen.... you could throttle them ! LOL.

Best

Michael

I know there had a snag with Vista X64 activation, but that was rectified at the weekend. I uninstalled my beta copy and went through the whole process from scratch, after buying it on the website without any problems.

I'm curious if any one with the activation problem is using SP3?

Rick... don't worry about it. The model is fine I can vouch for that.
I have flown her this evening until she ran out of fuel (I was too busy making smoke signals to notice the low fuel warning) :$

Gordon, Jim and Brian will be able to sort the activation issues out I'm sure. :cpu:

At this point you sould go and have a look at something completely different.... tonight you should have a beer and play rfactor or something.

Hi Michael

yes mate

"about as much fun as trapping my B***s between 2 bricks"

i really hope the few that have problems is down to the wrong numbers in the wrong sections but i have no way to check as i cannot get to the activation server.

i think the others are still about and my "Marie Celeste" feelings might be unfounded but hard to tell as i am not being sent any comms to the contrary :worried:

i need thicker skin and to stop worrying but as you warned the second it's not free your open season targets to be pot shotted even if the mistake is not mine. :$

but currently i do care what people think of us and find it difficult to deal with when i know how stressfull it's been for the last week.

Regards
Rick

Please mate... have an ale or something to help with the stress... your no good to me when you get stressed out... I want your skills to be used for years to come mate. I'm sure the guys can work out the snag with the activation thing. Its best to leave it to those who are exper in these areas. :goodman:

Please note I have just had a conversation with Gordon at SkySim who has advised the mail has gone down due to demand so activation request replies are not being returned yet.

Once the problem has been sorted everybody will be up and flying as soon as possible.

Cheers

Joe

Eventually you will learn to keep your thumbs between the bricks, they heal faster and hurt less :).

Regarding comms, if there busy firefighting other issues then they might not get time to answer you, if there having mail problems then yours might not be getting through either ?.

I know you care, everyone involved I'm sure cares and everyone knows the situation, Skysim have developed a nice product and on the face of it a good protection system, most genuine customers will respect that and make allowances.

Regarding payware, I think you've got off lightly so far LOL, suggest you get some sleep as you'll be next to useless when and if it ever does kick off big time, you cant help anyone if your dead on your feet.

One final point, it doesn't matter how many times to ask people to read the manual or read me, once they have there new toy all that well spoken English and grammar magically converts to hieroglyphics's before there very eyes and they glaze over, and then they just do what most boys do, rip all the packaging off and then spend the next 30mins going through all the waste looking for the key to wind the toy up :).
