Ben..
If we all used our local butcher/green grocer e t c.. we'd all eat less. Any increase in turnover would not be translated into a dropping of prices.. that's the way of the world but I see where you're coming from ;-) I get one of my beers £15 less from the brewer than I got it from S&N but have I dropped my price.. NO. I need to recoup what S&N stole from me for umpteen years. Do unto others as you have had done unto you. Sounds cruel but that's the way it works ;-)
Flight1 do seem to have got the pirate side of things sewn up. I can't even duplicate stuff I own without all the relevant bits in place

The trade-off seems to be their cut. That said.. it's all relevant isn't it. If you're not flight1 and sell your own stuff.. which ends up on the torrent sites hours later.. your sales will stop soon after. If you take less (or in this case, give more to someone light flight1).. your immediate profit is less but your sales continue as Joe Tw@t isn't ripping it off. We ended up going that way with the Shacklebomber which it has to be said.. continues to sell ;-)

I know exactly what you mean Dave. Life's a fecker... it certainly is nowadays anyway. That Flight Environment stuff is flight1 an very good, but I imagine Flight1 take a very hefty slice, but still, as you point out, the shak still sells.
When you see what a real brewer (traditional "hand made") stuff can do and charge less that we do for a better product (in some cases) you've gotta ask, what the hell are we doing with the money, and in a word... shareholders.
As it stands, now we are Heineken UK, and to be fair from what I've seen of Heineken and the way they do business, they are actually interested in the beer, which is refreshing. That said, maybe the reason they have bought S&N is to become "more comercial" I guess I'll find out over the coming weeks and months.

lol... the irony is that Carlsberg are fecked after that deal... if they can't make the Russian part of the business work, there is no carlsberg as they make no money without Russia and all of their competitors will pick them off for a song in a few years time.
Good Ad's, crap beer, and no money!

my point on the Captainsim 757 is I paid for an FSX version, that is no more than the FS9 version with a thumbnail and that pisses me off. Why not use "FSX compatible" in the description? ... I can tell you, lazyness and greed. They couldn't be arsed making an FSX version when for no cost they can sell the FS9 version and stick an FSX "sticker" on it. Thats completely against any trades descriptions. At least the Alphasim stuff IS FSX optomised.
Sorry, I wasn't referring to your point as such, rather that of what Rick was saying about certain individuals who were giving him grief for 'abandoning' FS9. Some people do get so up their own arses that they can't seem to understand why they're not getting what they want, not at all respecting the wishes of a developer who may want to persue a different route - in this particular case, moving on from FS9 to FSX. Nobody has a right to have models for their particular sim, be it FS9, FSX, or FS5.
However, I do agree with your point. There's no excuse for payware companies simply slapping an FSX tag onto a ready made FS9 model, and selling it as something new. If I'm
paying for an FSX model, then I want an FSX model, not some repackaged FS9 one which gives me 10fps and none of the extra features that FSX brings.
But of course, those two issues are entirely different kettles of fish. ;-)

Just saw the conclusion to the cockpit shot now, apologies there, chaps for going over trodden ground. That said, I must either be entirely blind or it was revealed in another post, as I didn't see it in the original thread:

P.S. please don't take this a 'creep', and there is no need to reply to it, let the thread return to its rightful course.
