Cheers for the replies guys been busy at work so not had chance to fire PC up for a few days, I think that I have a lot of links etc to test out, but as I am on a shift swap, start nights tonight.. It will be next week before I can spend time sorting them out. What are blurries and how would you know if you had them? Well instead of nice crisp scenery when you look out of the plane the world is mush excepet for airports and autogen everything else looks like its been in Gordon Ramsey's blender, I then become Gordon ( on the language side!) :@

I also have FS9 on my laptop so I will try using the textures from that if all the tweaks fail, just to see if I have some rogue textures lying around??
will report back ;-)

Ian,

Have you seen this article on 'Blurries'? It's for FSX but some of it may be useful for FS9.

http://www.fsinsider.com/tips/Documents/Blurries-v3.pdf.

Takes a few minutes to download.

I am speaking very quietly and crossing my fingers...but I may have found the answer to my blurries!!!++++

I had copied all my texture folders from my laptop and one by one substituted each one, all to no effect.. Then for some reaon I had the task monitor running to see what was using my CPU up... not FS! but ThreatFire.... well I unistalled it and then rebooted, now I have no judders and no blurries, crisp sharp scenery!! Ok I know you get the odd blur as you fly over something but now it gets back in focus really quick like milliseconds!
So what is threatfire?? well it is a useful back up to your antivirus and spyware progs that sits in the background looking for trouble, sadly it was causing mine by looking at every file FS9 was opening hence long load up times and textures not loading before being checked hence blurries, the sim never had chance to catch up! So look outside FS if you have blurries... I hope that I am cured but who knows ;-)
Daft thing is it was around the time I installed it that my troubles began, but I could not see the wood for the trees as they say! STUPID

Would turning off an anti virus have the same effect Tony? I guess that the prog you found came with an AV package?

I have AVG and Spysweeper and neither cause me problems, I thought that ThreatFire would be an additional saftey guard... not anymore ;-)
