Jim...Dan is right...AA should NOT show OFF in your Forceware...it should be set to APPLICATION CONTROLLED. It SHOULD be ticked inside FS9 and then FS9 will control AA. However, you can leave AF to be controlled by your Forceware, I have it set at 16x.

Chaps,
I know its been a while, but did the general consensus on AA not tell folk to enable it on the hardware (i.e. in the nvidia control panel) and switch it of in FS9?
As I recall, (and I've just done a quick google) this was the recommended way?

That's how I remembere it Ben. Leaving it to application controlled did little and as far as I was aware, Tony Madge was the only person on the planet that set it in FS

A little confusing! If it's application controlled in the menu, what is the tickbox in FS actually for? (I thought there would be no AA if it wasn't ticked)?

No Jim, application controlled means that when you tick the check box in FS9 it tells the hardware how to behave.... which is usually some flavour of crap. If you enable it within the NVIDIA control panel (start with something modest like x4 and then increase it bit at a time) and switch it off in FS, the card ignores whatever FS is telling it and just does it, much more effeciently than application controlled, and this method also uses less CPU as the application (FS9) isn't continually having to tell the card what AA should be doing.
Can you let me know what version of the NVIDIA drivers your running?
Give it a go mate and see how you get on. tonka

Aha ;-) Right - now I get it!
93.71 is the version of drivers I'm using at the mo.

We are talking FS9 here and with certain drivers, using the forceware to apply AA will prevent you having and rotating aircraft views in the aircraft selection menus. Doing it the way I suggest will prevent that happening. As for whether it works or not...do any of my screenshots look UN anti-aliased?

Very true Peter, but I was just pointing out the advice of loads of posts on the internet, and indeed this is how I ussed FS9 and still managed the rotating aircraft in the preview (although that was a comon problem.)
As I said in my post, nothing ventured, its a change to 2 check boxes, and it doesn't sound as though Jim has a system as up to date as yours Peter.
horses for courses, its another option to try.

Don rely on "prophets" Ben ... Go to the horses mouth Read Phil Taylors blog, and even nHancer suggest that you leave it up to the application, as the logic says that the program (and the programmers) are the best to know where to use it and how either than letting an "outsider" program decide ;-)
Sounds very reliable to me.
I must admit though that I have also listened to the prophets on the net, but doing it the "right" way both seems more logical, and is indeed working better for me.
