Hi Guy's..
This is what I'm seeing in FSX. The sim actually spit out soon after I took this shot.. error unknown :o
Dan..
OK mate.. I'll look in there. I've not changed any of the keystrokes.. possible finger trouble.

Garry you're absolutely right.
I tried to open the bmp's with ImageTool, and all the fuselage, engine and tail textures where without Alpha. The Rotodome which apperas normally in FSX is WITH alpha....
So all you need to do is to add alpha ....... how do I do that then

Open the bmp's that shine with ImageTool and convert them to DXT3 instead....
Voila no shiny aircraft...
As you can see, I have deliberately forgotten to convert the textures of eng1, just to show you the differences.

Folks .... much earlier within this thread I think I read something about someone commenting in relation to there not being and FSX specific AIRCRAFT.CFG file provided with the E3-D.
This is "INTENTIONAL".
All our CFM56 turbofan powered BOEING models have a single CFG file only .... with dual FS9 and FSX compatibility.
FSX specific CFG files are required and provided for only those aircraft which have smoke FX .... because smoke FX function differently within FSX.
In the realworld the big modern CFM56 turbofan engines which power the B707-700, E3-D (and other more recent military types) are "virtually smokeless" and do not have FS smoke FX .... hense no FSX specific CFG file is provided or required.
Hope this helps clear things up in case anyone was wondering if they'd been "short-changed"

Thanks for that explanation, just wondered where it went when reading the install instructions ;-)
Everything is working quite well in FSX.
Great job all.

There seems to be no alpha as Dan says but when called up those maps in DXTbmp have a solid black alpha which is causing the chrome
It seems that something is adding a defult black alpha.
Resaving and adding a pure white alpha should do the trick.
