The Armstrong Whitworth AW 55 Apollo was nailed by Eric (Tomliner) and Ben (TSR2) for diamond badges.
Mick (woody901) had a couple of tries, so he gets silver.
The various images available show 4 bladed props on all four engines, sometimes 4 blades inner and 3 blades outer, then another decked out with 3 blades on all 4 engines. I haven't seen any written explanation for this, but they definitely had trouble with the Mamba engines, so perhaps they were trying to obtain higher RPM to regain some power
I intended to include the fin, which would have steered a few in the right direction, but by the time I realised that was missing, Eric had already sent in his correct answer.
Only a couple built, and the Viscount won the contract, using more proven engines.

Mick (woody901), Eric (Tomliner), MikeW (emfrat) and AllanL all spotted the North American AT-6 Texan, Harvard, or whatever. The initial undercarriage image was from the Texan prototype, and would have caused confusion, so I posted the update with a more fitting image.

We've been tidying up the rumpus room lately, and I tossed out some of the old results notepads; we used to often have a dozen or more responses, and that was in the days when I was putting up new ones mid-week because replies had dried up.

Ben wondered whether the fuel tank cap behind the canopy was valid for an F MkI. I have seen it on other renditions (see "The Blueprints" version attached). So, is it a later thing, included in error on this early Mark, or is it just missing from some drawings? Anyone who knows for sure; go ahead and sort us out

all spotted the English Electric Lightning.
Possibly, this particular airframe was a little unusual, as the image led Spotters astray regarding the Mark
I have to show some differences in the badges, to reward effort.
Eric, Mick and Leonel get Silver for saying it was a Lightning.
Simon, Allan and Ben get Gold for submitting good reasons why it was a particular Mark.
Simon gets a Bonus star for his 2nd identification of Mk2.

The book says it is a Mk2.
The RAF serials list shows XN733 as a Mk2.
I feel your pain, I hope you can see my dilemma*.
(*I spelt that with an N, but I now see that although both spellings have been around for 500 years, the current acceptable version has 2 Ms)

The image was in fact a Mk IF night fighter, K7159, of 54 OTU, carrying the letters YXoN.
