Hi Nev, do you have HD lights turned on? Try them off if that is the case...

ORBX UK installed into P3D no uninstall required, now I have a sim that looks better at winter instead of those awful browns!

Thanks Chris, now we know HDR Lighting is the culprit.

Here is the bug list posted by Lockheed with reference to a lot of the problems we are having. Looks like a release in Jan 2014 for 2.05/2.1.

What is good to see is that Lockheed Martin listen to their customers and the fact that the users on this site are being very tolerant. Well done lads!

Unfortunately, although the blocky texture trees don't show in my FTX England or Wales scenery, they do in FTX Scotland. Not only that, there is a huge number of black/nontextured buildings, too.

Also had some aircraft issues, namely with the Cessna Citation Mustang from Flt1. I'm sure I had that working before, though - maybe because I added the latest patch this time and not last time. I'll reinstall and see how it goes (quite apart from Flight1 apparently threatening to revoke the licences of anyone installing their products into Prepar3D).

Guys, I wouldn't bother trying to find work arounds for problems that LM have already identified, best to let them fix the things they've outlined otherwise it will drive you mad. The blocky textures is an issue they have accepted, let them fix it ;)

This is true - but if I can avoid such areas and thereby enjoy my flying more, I will.

I'm not going to not fly or fly and just accept that it's going to be very much less than satisfying if I know I can fly somewhere that isn't affected. Who knows how long this will take to sort, and wether any upcoming patch may introduce fresh issues? Those who fly in DCS World will know exactly what I mean - it's been going on in that sim for years, everyone waits for the fix and when it arrives there's something else fundamentally broken, to mention just one example.

If peeps find areas or products that are or seem to be unaffected by some of the issues, I'd really like to know, so I can use them until it's sorted ;)

If anyone's interested, I have uploaded quite a few screenshots to my website (new P3D section opened), showing FTX sceneries in the UK and a trial of a payware mission in P3D, which didn't look so good.

Some very nice views, though:

Spotted a very interesting and potentially useful post over at AVSIM, regarding CPU affinity setting and the effect it has on P3Dv2:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/430353-aff ... -it-works/

I can't try it myself as yet, due to moving all my PC stuff into the second bedroom (it's currently in the 3rd) and all my modelling kit from there to here! Headaches on the horizon....

Anyway,as this chap has a similar spec to a couple of us here, it could make a nice change to the overall P3D experience. Especially for GA.
