I think it's mint Dave.

Before I got the Wildcat I was looking at these.

Some impressive footage of them on YouTube.

Wonderland are doing them at a rock bottom price too.

I'm still considering one as they look lovely. :)

Now you've done it

The little tinker comes fitted for full 4ch too.. just add the servo and connect. I've watched a few vids tonight and it's flying characteristics look really good. It will do all I want and doesn't need gear  I was a bit miffed at one of the reviews on that site when the chap said it's really important to fly it in NO wind but reading further, he was a complete novice and to get to grips with any RC model, it's better to fly in zero wind in order to get a feel for it and get it trimmed. I'm very nearly at the add to basket point. SWMBO will not like it.. she'll not like it one little bit but, I've been good the last few months so I hope to get a bit of leeway ;) That price is better than anywhere else by quite a bit too.

See ya in the divorce courts soon

Eddie..

Believe it or not, I have clearance to buy :-O Two things though. The Wonderland Models P51 isn't 2.4gig.. it's 27mhz I think or thereabouts (ZX10). Should I be worried by that considering most 'new' models are 2.4ghz. Secondly, the batteries for it (PKZ1033) are £35.49ea which is bloody expensive. You shouldn't be too bad as they're the same ones fitted to the Radian but at 8-10mins per charge, I'd want at least another 1, perhaps 2 but £35.49 is a bit ridiculous. Do you know of any cheaper?
You can get a DSM P51 but it's a lot more expensive :(

Yes you probably will see me there too mate.

Seriously though, that Mustang is probably the most popular out of all the PZ warbirds. *-)

The only reason I didn't opt for one was the fact some Amercian chap on the RC forum convinced me the Wildcat was superb.

As it happened I spotted one on eBay in top order and snaffled it up quick.

I have seen a bloke near me flying one of these Mustangs and it was very very impressive.

Although I have only seen him the once so perhaps he smashed it to pieces!

If you do opt for one be prepared for a much more adrenalin fuelled experience.

**Edit**

Just clocked your post mate. :)

Great news.

Not sure about the 27mhz radios as I've never used one.

I think it's a basic unit designed to keep costs down. *-)

I'm sure they are more than up to the job and can be reused on other models.

As for the batteries. Forget buying from them. I get all mine from an eBay store. They are Overlanders. :agree:

Out of interest I've seen the EZ Hawk for £105 delivered at Nitrotek if your still considering other options. :dunno:

Whatever you decide at least you've had the green light.

I assume Mrs B is knee deep in Flowers and Milk Tray?

Yeh.. right

I was a bit unsure about what amounts to going backwards as far as technology goes (27mhz rather than 2.4gig) but as I don't have a suitable 2.4gig txer.. it's a case of in for a penny, in for a pound. I've seen those Overlander batteries on ebay but didn't know which one to get. The connector on the P51 is EC3? so I guess I need to look for an EC3 connector Overlander.

It's in the basket now (the P51). I was just waiting to hear what you had to say  If you can point me in the right direction for the battery off ebay, I'll order one of those too.. 3S 1300Mah LiPo EC3.. Parkzone number PKZ1033

Brilliant. You don't hang about mate. Buy before she changes her mind!

The batteries I got were from a seller called gliders-distribution I think.

Based in Newark. :)

About £20 delivered.

What's sold it to me from them was the fact they put a free connector on your new battery. :agree:

That's the only thing with buying stock batteries. You have to get the correct connectors.

Just tell them you want a EC3 connector to fit a Parkzone model.

Now your onto your second model it may lead to a third!!

If so I'd seriously consider a half decent Tx. I've got a Second hand Spektrum Dx6 off eBay for £80.

That's got a 10 model memory. So you just buy a bind and fly aircraft rather than a ready to fly. :)

Forget that for now though. Just go fly and enjoy.

You'll be praying for a decent day. It gets really frustrating!

Oh and one final thing. Nothing puts more fear in you than throwing that model in the air for the first time.

Well.. I went to bed last night and it worried me having bought it. I've got up early this morning and it still worries me having bought it. Just not sure if it's what I should be doing at this moment in time :worried:

A new txer would be nice but 'almost' fruitless for this model as it's not 2.4gig so the next model I buy will have to be 'old tech' (27mhz) or RTF.. that or change the receiver to 2.4gig. 8) Wonderland aren't selling the newer version. :(

Woe is me *-)
EDIT: I've cancelled the order.. dag nab it. :(

Thank the lord Dave !!! Never buy those 27mhz deals , I promise you with all the aerials and phone masts about up your way your model would have lasted a very short time , ask my daughter lol , Eddie is correct , 2.4 is the way to go now . Doesn't have to be a big brand name as the deals about now are mega !!! Check on eBay for your batteries or go to GiantCod , an excellent online shop with massive discounts . The overlanders are great batteries but check on eBay for turnigy lipo's , about £14 quid and blooming great to boot , I got about 8 of them . I need to pop on here more and share my ups and downs with you all , and Dave if you want a cheap plane , I may be able to help you out fella :-)
