Keith (Dev One) led the charge, PeteP and Ben were next with "right first go" responses,
while Mick (woody901) identified it on his second go.
It was a Curtiss Kittyhawk.

Well, looks like nobody got it this week.
Oh, hang on, I'm looking at the next blank page in the book
Eric (Tomliner), PeteP, Mick (woody901), Brian (Bridon Bear), Simon (simondix), Brian Franklin, AllanL, Joe (blanston12)Myles and Ben (TSR2) all won a diamond badge, and Ben impressed me with a little detail on the tail wheel variations, scoring a Bonus Star.
I've been reading about night fighters, and none of them were picked up by a Walrus, but I can imagine the relief of downed aircrew seeing one arrive.
Thanks for playing

Simon (simondix) led the charge, then Keith (Dev One), Eric (Tomliner), PeteP, AllanL followed.
They all identified the Hamilcar X, powered version of the Hamilcar glider.
Allan's reply included this:
Only 20 had been built by VJ Day so they never saw action.
Dad had been involved in the planning for Operation Zipper, the seaborne invasion of Malaya, and they went ahead with the landings as no-one knew if the Japs would just surrender. Luckily they did and even operated under Indian Army command in Java where Dad was involved in helping the Dutch regain control from '45 to '47.
So I've given him a Bonus Star.

The Arado AR68 V5, which was the prototype for the Jumo engined AR68E, was spotted by the following:
Mick (woody901), PeteP, Simon (simondix), Joe (blanston12), Ben (TSR2) and AllanL.
Diamonds to you, Gents.
Allan went into more detail on the Jumo power plant, and identified it as opposed to the alternate BMW exhausts.
Bonus Star for that, Allan.
Thank you one and all
