Yep, that's all done. The only thing I can think is that if you have the GenX for southern Ireland, that mesh is covering Belfast too *-) If I send you my BGL could you try it to see if it looks any better on your system?

OK, but, the groubd should e completely flat within your flatten area irrespective of the mesh.

Morning chaps,

Here is a little taster of what I'm trying to achieve. Under Georges expert tutorage I've been trying to do this for about a week now, but been getting nowhere in FSX. On Friday night I went into P3D and added the same scenery folder and low and behold, my docks had sides! Now a happy bunny because I had proved that what I was doing was correct (having redone it twice because I thought I was doing something wrong) but not understanding why this was different between P3D. Last night I disabled all of my scenery, still no joy. I then backed up my FSX master scenery folder and replaced it with the P3D one, still no joy. At about 02:15 I went into setting and saw the problem. I had (at some point prior) knocked my mesh resolution slider back to 38 metres instead of 5!!! So after all of that, it was something as simple as a slider in the wrong place. Now if my electrical fault finding tutor could see me now, "what have I always told you Watson; Switches, Fuses, Relays!" (i.e. check the obvious first)

Anyway, still a lot of work to go with the water mask etc, but the risen effect of the Docks is now working. The only thing I can't seem to get rid of is the bloody M3 bridge that wasn't there in the 70's - 80's I've tried a few different excludes (Roads and Freeways) but no joy.

For the bridge you need an exclusion rectangle with the tag excludeExtrusionBridgeObjects = "TRUE"

Looking good mate

FSX really does my head in sometimes.. Hamble being a good example! I've since looked at a bit of scenery Brian is making and I seem to have plateau/holes all over the bloody shop. I wouldn't mind so much if this was a tired old install but it's not! A quick flight from Brum to my house shows 'the Villa' ground is on a plateau off the M6 to the left. To be honest, I can't remember taking too much notice before but I'm sure it shouldn't be like this. Wonder if it's a consequence of one of the houses I've added in Pelsall? *-) :dunno:

While I'm here.. does anyone know of a decent tv mast.. default autogen or otherwise? I want to add one or both of the tv masts at Sutton Coldfield and the only thing I could find yesterday was a tv mast for Alderney. I've added that for now but it's far from correct. It's too darned small for one  I know I've seen tv masts scattered all over the place but can't remember if this was FS9 or not? *-)

Any idea of the dimensions?
Are they standalone, or do they have rigging to support them? Couldn't see in the photo.

I know what you mean Dave. My FSX install was only a few months old so I was completely baffled, but alas it was my own fault.

That exclude worked a treat George! Is it possible to modify the stock roads / freeways? I know I can add new ones, but ideally I'd like totake the traffic that used to go over the now demolished M3 bridge and route it through town. If I join some new road to where the M3 has been deleted, will the traffic follow it off the stock M2 onto my new road? *-)
