Hi John

The best way forward is just to use the panel you suggested and all will be sweet. :smile:

The panel that came up on mine was certainly not a 727 panel but maybe an FS default of sorts was called in :dunno:

Gary, I've extracted the zip again just to make sure, and there definitely no panel in the download I've got. How odd!

John, it doesn't do that here at all, but I've just looked through the readme, and it says I need FSUIPC, so that could be the solution to both problems. I'll give it a try.

Hi Paul

Could be like I mentioned above it pulled in a default panel but maybe my FS is structured different to yours and you've not got one there.

This sort of things often seem to happen with often little making sense.

Still it will be worth sorting it out as it is a nice model

Having just looked at the zip file that I downloaded today (called Eastern 727-100 Vistaliners.zip and 20,517,054 bytes in size according to right clicking and "Properties"), panel.cfg contains:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_400\panel\

so your Boeing 737 panel is not surprising.

@PaulK
Since B737_400\panel exists in FS2004 it simply uses that - there is NO panel in the zip file and it is simply aliasing to the default Boeing 737 - are you using FSX which perhaps has different directories?

Ian

Edit: Looks like PaulK is referring to the Boeing 727-200. Just downloaded that and, yes, it does have

[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\panel.b727

in the panel.cfg.

So that one will need a panel.

Does anyone find the sounds are very tame and lagging behind the action in the panel mode.

Seems fine in tower and spot-plane.........just panel :think:

Now that you mention it Garry, I can hardly hear the engine sounds from the cockpit. OK, the engines are in the tail, but it's very quiet in the cockpit. Even on the take-off run.

I'll have to look at the sound.cfg. :dunno:

Hi John

Do you find the engines spool up silent then the roar follows afterwards

OK the engines will be a whistle/hum but the timing seems odd

Outside they have all the rawness and impact with slight throttle adjustments one would expect.

Perhaps it's a panel thing :dunno:

Out of my depth on this.

Great if you can find something

Okay, got John's panel to work :smile:

However, upon starting the engines with Ctrl+E, I get a continuous noise that sounds like a rattle. Any ideas what might be causing it ?

Hi Paul

Funny you should say this as when I started it yesterday in the cockpit there was a noise like a rough piston engine trying to start :worried:

Went to spot-view and the noise was as expected outside

So I went back in and it was the quiet buzz mentioned above with John.

TBH I'd thought no more about it until your above post :think:

There is a sound file, called 400hz or something ,with the Probst panel which I think is associated with a gauge ,anyway I deleted it .Cheers
