Well, a tonne here and a tonne there makes two tonnes....

Not been able to fly for a little while and all this is more than a little confusing. I booked a merchantman flight a few hours ago but haven't got round to flying it yet, is there anything new i have to do before a flight etc?
I'll admit i do find some of these terms a little confusing and haven't got my head around them yet.

Hi Richard..
No mate.. fly the flight as normal. The only differences are what the flight will actually make now and that.. with the exception of fuel.. is just about out of your hands
FlyNET didn't recognise the MZFW of the Vanguard before so paid revenue for all pax plus 17t of cargo (regardless of how you actually had the model loaded). Now.. the figure is much more accurate

Dave B put that much better than my attempt.
So I deleted it all except for this bit...
If you're not familiar with the terms used...
DOW - Dry Operating Weight - weight of the aircraft, no passengers, baggage, cargo or fuel.
ZFW - Zero Fuel Weight - weight of aircraft + passengers + baggage + cargo but without fuel (MZFW = Maximum ZFW)
TOW - Take Off Weight - weight of aircraft + passengers + baggage + cargo + fuel (MTOW = Maximum TOW)
Payload = weight of passengers + baggage + cargo

The bits you've left are worth leaving anyway mate as I get a feeling not all of our pilots are au fait with them

Hi
Just popping into this thread to say that I just finished a flight from KBOS to KJFK (fortunately I didn't have to refuel and I got a +1 tonnes of cargo with me this time. (Compared to the "normal" 7650 kgs)
For once I
didn't save my briefing (I always do normally) so I can't show you the briefing figures. but for what I know it seems to be OK....
this however are the flight details of the flight.

Someone with more wit than I might be able to confirm that it looks ok..

Hi Dan,
Can't see anything witty in your linked flight report as the link just displays a blank page for me  . Your Flight Report at Flynet
http://flynet.en-studios.de/index.php?l ... b&id=26920 looks fine and you carried 8639 kgs of cargo.
