Shows something of the mission..to give the best treatment possible in far from ideal conditions.........But they succeed and do so with unbelievable modesty.

You asked about why the RN is sometimes refered to as the 'Andrew'.. here's why..
It comes from a very zealous Press Gang officer of the name of Andrew Miller, of whom it was commonly said that he pressed so many men into the Navy that it was practically his own property.
There you have it. Another question answered

Peter, having narrowly avoided sailing south myself, I read those articles with great interest. You must be very proud of her indeed. Its always so admirable how individuals rise to the challenges of these momentous events, and your good wife is a shining example.
