If you do fiction they must be done properly

So a few things that stick out

The BOAC would be ahead of the door beneath the cockpit

The cheatline would come to almost a point on the rear fuse

The BOAC on the engines would be smaller

The tail would have more blue like a VC 10

The speedbird would be smaller on the fin

The Gold is wrong

And lose the Super VC 10 reg

Please take this as constructive criticism :worried:

Which VC-10 - the Dave Maltby one or the Abacus one? I used to have Dave Maltby's VC-10, and I liked it a lot, but I stopped using FS9 about 18 months ago and only reinstalled it last week - haven't had a chance to get all the 'necessary files' yet. I'm still flying with the default AI!

Thanks for that list Garry, I was mainly using the 707 as a reference! I got it into my head that as the 707 and 747 have the speedbird touching both sides of the blue area of the fin, the 727 must be the same, but I see that's not the case.

lol...
Poor CDRW...
:worried:
There is more than a strong belief on here that the Abacus one is, less than perfect when compaired to DM's (so we don't mention it)

That's what I thought - I read a review of the Abacus one which suggested that the best use for the CD is to send your microwave oven to a fiery doom, but I've been away from FS so I didn't know if maybe there's a newer payware VC-10...

I haven't installed the VC-10 yet but do notice I said "prettiest payware aircraft" - I'm not comparing the Dreamfleet 727 to the DM VC-10!

edit: just remembered why I started this. I saw that shot of that landing BOAC 707-436 and thought "Well, that is a very nice image - how can I emulate that?". I have no 707, but I do have the 727 with a repaint template, hence the BOAC 707. Then I realised that bare-metal textures are hard to make, so I painted the underside grey, VC-10 style.

(I saw an RAF VC-10 at Farnborough in 2004 - it made my year!)
