An Elephant is a Mouse designed to
a government specification.
a government specification.
I suppose given that Flybe's own 146s are on the way out its not all that surprising. Sad so say, but the 146 is 25 years old (since its first flight) this year and the original design is now some 33 years old
For certain operations its still the best though.
Jonesey, havent tried a 145, but those engines are American designed Allison AE 3007s. RR acquired Allison some while ago and its now known as RR North America or some such.
I havent flown on a 146 since 1989, and I have never done LCY. Does anyone know of any routes of there that are guaranteed (or 99% sure!) to be a 146/RJ and dont cost the earth?
I feel the need for another flight before its too late

Birmingham-Zurich with Swiss on the right flight (145 on the way back)? It was the case in April - but not costing the earth does not apply
And since they are getting more of the 146 (having dumped the Saab 2000 to Darwin) perhaps even more likely.
I have to admit that I enjoyed that 146 flight. Only my second. The first time was horrendous on an Air France Birmingham to Paris - not sure what the problem with the pressurisation was, but my ears hurt for hours.
