Hi David

Thanks for your reply.
On closer inspection, I do see this with the previous version of your HS121 Trident, but it is less pronounced and limited to the overhead panel and flightdeck seatbacks.
I have seen this effect before, on my old PC (replaced about 1 month ago), but can't recall on which aircraft type.
Within the aircraft.cfg file of both the previous Trident and current One-Eleven models, I have tried the following alternative beacon effects.

Fx beacon
Fx beaconb
Fx beacong

All gave the same result, with the exception of ' fx_beacong', which also gave a green colour to the beacons.

Strangely, I only see the flashing effect, if I manually select the beacons 'on'. If I use the 'L' key command everything looks OK.
Does this indicate other lighting effects are involved? Panel lighting for instance?
One other point - I do not see the wing views with the latest One-Eleven.
I have manually uninstalled the following files from the previous version.

Aircraft Folder
DMFS Shared files
Effects folder
Textures Folder

Prior to manually reinstalling the One-Eleven.
Does this indicate that I have done something wrong on the installation?

I am currently using the latest Nvidea 91.45 drivers.

Please don't see this as a criticism of your excellent work.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Guys

It's a standard FS error & Not DM's fault.

Use the Argosy_Beacon-upper.fx from my AW650 and it will fix the problem.

this has the shine on model part switched off to stop the VC garbling part.

FSX seems to have at last have no peoblem with the beacon showing in the VC.

Rick

Hopefully Rick's suggestion will work for you Kevin.
As an experiment I put in the standard FS9 beacon effect back in the Argosy & that certainly did flash red in the VC.
The Argosy beacon is right on top of the VC roof though. The 1-11 & Trident beacon is too far away to reflect at all, even on the short body 1-11.

I wonder if you have loaded some addon that overwrote the standard FS9 beacon or nav light effects.
I've never seen the beacon interfere with the VC in any way on any Trident or 1-11. It does shine on the wings, but never in the VC.
I always use the switches in the panel for lights, not 'L'. Tried both ways though & it never does anything odd.

Did you check the date on that 'fx_beaconh.fx' file in the FS9\Effects folder?

It's a strange one. :dunno:

Sorry for my late reply - bit of a hectic week.
I have seen the effect before, on my old PC.
Thanks Rick, I'll try your suggestion when I get a moment.

Dave,

Just downloaded the updated versions of the 1-11 and Trident.....Brilliant!!!!

Really like the co-pilot feature of V1 and rotate though sadly you appear to have missed out on one very important voice add-on here...........the stewardess asking................"Can I get you anything Captain?"

Thanks, Rick

Your suggestion has fixed the problem.
In reply to David's question about the date of the fx_beaconh.fx file, I have copied across the file from the FSx demo (dated 9 Aug 2006) - this gives the same problem.

Cheers

Kevin
