In my own defense I never said that the restrictions were because of one political persuasion or another either, you made that link yourself.

I was responding to the assertion by Toby about Arnold being Republican and there being a suggestion that California was more right leaning than it is.

Also, having relatives also living in California and looking at the voting patterns in that area (look at the California Voting Office or any of the county-by-county maps of the last few elections) you will notice that the areas around the locations I listed are very liberal in their voting. If there are conservatives there, they aren't in sufficient numbers to get the majority in any public referendum.

And you're right, NIMBYs come in all shapes and sizes, again never made nor suggested anything to the contrary.
