I need to recalibrate the throttle, as it seems to have got itself to the point where the lowest it will go is about 5% thrust, even with the throttle all the way back. Saitek haven't been a huge amount of help, wondered if anybody had any ideas?

Thanks

Unplug the stick!! Uninstall the software!! Restore system to before
installing the software!! Turn off your computer!! Plug in the joystick!!
Reboot!! Let XP find its own driver for the stick!! They are better than
the one that comes with the stick!!

After this all you need to do to recalibrate is unplug the stick for
a few seconds, plug it back in and move all the axis full travel!!
It should be perfect then!!

in the pic of the x45 that kimber has posted,if you rotate the plastic ring at the bottom of the spring, you will find the spring can be adjusted, either more stiff,or in the other direction less stiff, until its right for you.
Also on the x45,the plastic shaft, causes a bit of a friction stiffness,if i remember correctly, the x52 has a metal shaft, which should reduce or eliminate this type of friction.

Alan, I tried rotating the plastic ring, and it makes no difference.

The simple solutions are generally the best ones aren't they and I love that one of Kimber's  I'm almost tempted to go and buy one just to zap a couple of cable ties on

The best lube for the shaft is Trombone slide grease, at any music
store!!

Now let's see if we can keep off color comments to a minimum!!
