An inverter converts DC to AC, but what "power density" means is anyone's guess. *-)

Generally speaking inverters can't handle high current draw, of the type needed to operate an electric motor, because current in = current out; ( roughly speaking, you do get some losses) so I'm guessing they have found a way round it

Maybe they up the voltage so amps are lower? Must generate some heat = losses= though.
