It's not just a certain Irish airline, many many. I could name a certain orange airline for example, who seem to get something wrong almost every time I travel with them. Finally got round to send them a complaint last Summer, only to get a standardised response about 6 weeks later "we're sorry you didn't enjoy your flight, we hope to see you onboard again soon". So I decided to vote with my wallet.

Air Berlin was another example. I have to travel to Düsseldorf a few times a year and they were one of the options. Price was reasonable, flights were usually punctual, cabin was clean and in good repair, service was good, food was good, nice free chocolate at the end. Out of business.

In the meantime, I have rebooked to Brussels with Swiss (but via the Eurowings website because they offered the same flight for a lower price!). I will get the CS100 or Airbus A220 or whatever it's now called outbound which is nice. Boring old A319 on the way back. Swiss is phasing them out in favour of the CS300. I could have taken Brussels Airlines (CityJet) from Basel to Brussels and got the Sukhoi Superjet 100, but they only go at silly o'clock in the morning and I'm not up for that, neither is the public transport.
