Thank you Graham,

Bulldog now successfully installed and it is lovely. Been flying it today with my new Oculus Rift and can't put it down.
Thanks for your efforts. A long awaited addition to the hangar. ;)

I have it all working now.

The validation issue was because my Norton 360 Firewall was blocking BlackBox Pre-Flight from accessing the internet. I was fixated on the AntiVirus aspect (which BlackBox keep talking about) of Norton, which had originally been the cause of the installation issue, and hadn't thought about the Firewall.

I'm now very happy and "all is well which ends well"

Graham sent me an email offering to help, and I have replied with a more detailed account of my attempts to install the Bulldog.
At that point I had not seen his post above (timezone problem) but I will try the updated installer mentioned there.

PS - my network is behind a modem/router and I have Windows Firewall deactivated, as well as the Firewall component of AVG.

Not spent a great deal of time in it yet but thus far..

The download/install/register routine IS a bit clunky though not insurmountable. Anyone who's bought a SimSkunkWorks model will find this easy.. at least fast!! The Blackbox Pre Flight Manager software (which installs to your desktop) mentions turning off Norton AV but I turned MSE off as precaution too. Bottom line.. it all ended with a first time install ;)

A couple of things struck me with the first flight.. the nav red and greens are rather loud and will be changed IDC and the prop animation seems a little unsure.. notably, the transition from fast to slow blur. Inside is exactly as you'd expect. A nice uncluttered panel with smooth operating gauges. The pilot is animated with control movement and is similar to the one in the Iris Grob. It flies as you'd expect and will get into and out of most places I can think of. A great little cross-country hack if you're in no particular hurry to get to where you're going :cpu:

I've always thought the Bulldog was a nice looking aircraft, and this model certainly does it justice judging by the shots above. I'm holding off all add-ons for now while we await P3D 64-bit, but it's one for the list, as and when. By the way, DB, in that second to last shot - nice to see Nigel Mansell is still around.

For those who don't care for the rather large nav red/greens.. although the effects are attached to the model rather than a cfg entry.. to change them is very simple as they're unique to this model. The offending files live in your effects folder and are called BB_Bulldog_GRN_NAV and BB_Bulldog_RED_NAV. For users who prefer something a little smaller.. simply rename these two files (I stuck ORIG after NAV on both) then select a matching pair you DO like, copy both then rename them BB_Bulldog_GRN_NAV and BB_Bulldog_RED_NAV. The end result is something less visible and more realistic..

No need for fancy hex editors.. just a simple swap ;) These are DG's (as if you hadn't guessed)
