Yes I had heard that Windows 10 will be a licenced version requiring an annual fee, which I think is a bad move
In that case it will surely end up as popular as the BBC licence.....bearing that in mind and it would require an internet connection so that when the annual fee is due and you forget to pay Win 10 automatically shuts down!!!!
I will stick with what I got thank you very much.
Regards
Nigel.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to require any annual fee. I think people are getting confused. Win 10 will be available free for a year. If you don't choose to install it during that time then you have buy it.

Dave I read that they are licencing it or at least some of the progs within it, which I guess you will have to pay for or end up with it being only any good as a calculator !!

Could be things like Office 365 which already works that way.. I think

If I'm not mistaken.. I got a copy with my Windows Phone which either works for a year (then you pay an annual fee) or works as a reader after the first year expires.. something like that. The last thing I need to do on my phone is read .doc files so I've never used it.

Yes, please Paul.
How about setting up the same scene as I did at Edmonton for the FSX/Steam/Primocache comparisons?
What fps do you get in W10?
Oooops, sorry, you asked the "good" people.

Hi PaulC
can the quicklaunch feature be placed back on the taskbar ?
.... I never liked the Pin to taskbar feature .
And
can the start menu items be changed to extend the contents of items.. ie - see the contents of the control panel, computer and various folders by simply hovering the
mouse of the items.
I dislike opening a window then clicking on a folder and then another , etc,
Extending the items in Startmenu, allows me to go right to the target file or control panel item.
cheers,
Joe

Well I haven't heard anything like that, anyway I have upgraded my Notebook from 8.1 with Bing to 10 today while at work. Going to see how I get on with that install before thinking of upgrading the Gaming PC. Not even going try updating the Media Centre PC as there is no Media Centre with 10 (which is another great choice of MS that sits alongside Windows Home Server and Technet).
