Took the 60 day free trial.
Hit the start key and got this warning.
Backed off and set up a new cache task using C:\ let it have 3000-odd Mb to play with.
Launched FSX.
Load about same time as usual.
Went to Edmonton default runway, Baron 58
You remember the fps I quoted when comparing Steam with Avgas FSX?
EDIT:Comparison report:
Location; Edmonton Int'l (default scenery)
Aircraft Baron 58 standard instruments.
Cockpit view 0.7 zoom
Sim not paused.
Display settings equal (shadows, ground shadows, traffic, water effects etc)
The Steam scenery wasn't as good as ordinary FSX
FSX Steam Edition 85-89 fps
FSX "Avgas Edition" 89-92 fps
With the free trial running, I registered high 70s to low 90s.
Conclusion:
Without "Invisible Memory" there's nothing gained on my system. I was already using spare disc space as virtual video RAM anyway, so it's probably done nothing that wasn't already done.
Anybody want to test with a higher level computer than mine?
