Hi Dave, yes I have that update for the Thud, but thanks for taking the time to remind me. Of the old Alphasim models, it's the one I always have installed. It's one of their best, I think. :)

Ben, were you responding to me rather than DB ? Fraser did the panel for the XB-70?

Hi mate,

No, I was meaning the Victor panel :)

I remembered seeing some screenshots of a Victor panel in work. Was wondering what happened to it. Last of his work I have is the Jetstar.
I had the Phoenix Vulcan pay ware a few years back and was looking forward to the adding the Victor to the fleet.

More than 2 years ago I sent a PM to Fraser (aka Viscount Cornbank) about the Victor panel but he never responded.

I thought I had a copy but I can't for the life of me find it if I have. I'm sure I got the last version of the Alpha Victor out of mothballs to accompany it too. Thinking about this.. I seem to remember seeing a screenie DG did of a simulated A Bomb release too. Arrggghhhhh. I guess he never finished it.

In case anyone's interested, Virtavia has given the B-47 a little FSX update, as they recently did with the Hampden. Very welcome, though it does tend to fly nose down at high speed with altitude hold applied. It levelled out about mach 0.46. I wonder if it can be tweaked in any way.

Here's a couple of shots of this latest version:

I saw the update mentioned but I've not been 'moved' to chase it up. Looks nice though.

A nose down attitude at cruise would indicate you might be going too fast though M0.46 doesn't sound particularly quick *-)

Hi Dave,

I found something called 'manual' ( apparently, lots of add-ons have one of these ) and it mentions a cruising altitude of 30K and a mach setting of 0.73. So I tried it, and it seems reasonable. Maybe a degree or two down by the nose, but the Stratojet wing had a high angle of incidence so I suppose that accounts for it.

A definite keeper, thanks Virtavia.

As you can see, I've found a few repaints, by Pierre Lheureux. The first one is obviously fictional, but the second one represents the test bed for the Orenda Iroquois engine ( which appears to have fallen off in flight  )

The pilots' heads and helmets are just black blobs now, so I need to see what's what and whether it can be fixed. Nice though, eh ? Phil sent me the download link, so well worth getting, DB. :)

EDIT: Pasted the texture.cfg into the new repaints - that did the trick with the pilots. :)
