Dave, you're nearly there.

Looking at your Photobucket site, in order to get the correct URL, you need to hover you cursor over the 'cog' symbol of the thumbnail photo of you Photobucket homepage you wish to post and click on 'Get links'. Click on the address in the 'Direct' window. you should see the message 'copied' appear. Paste this between the [img]and[/img] tags in the CBFS text window.

Regards

Kevin

Point is...the links I used were Daves original links...just that they work in a post I make but not one he does and I have no idea why this should be

When I edit his posts or even remove all image tags and fit new ones they work in my posts but not when I edit his.

If I take his none working originals and copy and past into my post..they work :wall:

I'm baffled now.
I don't see an image from you link above, only the link itself.
I've copied your link above and will add it below.

[EDIT] - having posted this, I'm now seeing your image in your quote that I added, but not in your post.

Kevin , thanks once more I'll try again tomorrow . I now realise how difficult it is to write tech manuals , or indeed run a 'pooter help line , but your explanation all made sense ...... however , forgot to tell you .... when I get within 100yds of any 'pooter .. garage , bank , Tescos , aeroplane .... it breaks ! Do you think it's me ?

Good night , dave f .

Hi Dave

a bit of a long shot here, but does your profile allow the posting of images?

Just below the blue 'Classic British Flight Sim' header, are two paler blue lines. In the lower one, you should see 'User Control Panel'. Click on this and navigate to 'Board preferences'. In the left hand column, select 'Edit Display Options'. Check that 'Display Images within posts' is selected as 'Yes'. Click on 'Submit'.

As I say, this is a long shot, but the fact that your posts don't display images, whereas quotes by Garry and myself do indicates that the problem lies with our setup at CBFS.

I really hope this helps.

Kevin

Kevin , yes ; display images within posts is on Yes and has been resubmitted . After tea I'm going to try and submit a photo to the FC web and see if it posts .
Thanks for your persistence last night .

Dave, what's baffling me is that your links don't work but if I quote you or copy and paste your link into my post, the picutre shows, as Garry described above.
This would indicate that something in your profile settings is blocking the link.
I've had a look through my profile settings and the only other thing which may have an effect, is the BBCode setting. This can be found in 'User Control Panel', 'Board preferences', 'Edit posting defaults', 'Enable BBCode by default' and should be set to 'Yes'.
Incidentally, whilst typing this I noted at the lower right of the webpage the following -

BBCode is ON
[img] is ON
[flash] is OFF
[url] is ON
Smilies are ON

Can you check similar on yours, that both [img] and [url] are 'on'.

Regards

Kevin
