That looks very good Dave, it's pretty close as far a the colours so no worries there. Re Manchester's cab I think that under NPAS the idea is cabs will be rotated so as to not over use one airframe, the colour scheme should be the standard high low vis scheme, so they may change it?? Who knows

Really Dave? :dunno:

I think ours is quite fetching. I'm not overly sure of the layout in other units but the Nemeth one for Cambridge has different front cockpit to ours.

The front observer in ours has a screen taking up the majority of their side with radio volume knobs to the extreme left. The camera control unit is stowed on the side of the centre console.

The GPS is top centre and the primary flight instruments are "glass". Nemeth seem to have many variations, not sure how accurate they are. Our external kit is located differently to theirs too.

Thanks Tony.. you've been good enough not to rubbish it in public

Paul..
I'm not a fan of this more 'modern' look if I can put it that way. The main POLICE title for one.. Police.. capitol P and lower case olice. It just doesn't look right.. doesn't look authoritative in my view. With the 902's (the model, not the real thing).. I appreciate the gear is different but at least they made an attempt. The EC135 is widely used by law enforcement agencies but you get a standard, a medical and a VIP. A law enforcement version would have been nice ;) They're both nice models though :)

Hopefully, someone out there will be keen enough to paint yours up for FS. Won't be me I'm afraid.. there are more maps than I know what to do with and many of them, I've no idea what they do! :worried:

It won't be me either, I wouldn't know where to start!

I did find one on Simviation which is ok. I'll post some pics later if I get chance. On nights tonight with Air Ops so hopefully this snow will lift!

I think Paul is an Observer mate. When I mentioned a certain forum member being in the back of a Police helo a bit back, he asked 'is there another Observer on the forum then'? I dunno how your shifts work though.. are you always an Observer when you're an Observer or are there times when you go up as a Bobby? I wouldn't have thought the latter but there you go

Paul.. I found that paint eventually. Having selected FSX Helicopters and going through 20-odd pages without luck.. I typed in MD902 and up they all came in the Payware section :wall:

Is this one yours??

I think the author used mips but otherwise.. it's a nice paint. I pulled East and South Yorkshire paints while I was there too.. just to make sure

That's the one Dave, nice isn't it? :hide:

I'm a qualified Observer, but am not yet posted and so 90% of my work is in my current role, but I keep my currency up by doing 3 or 4 shifts per month. This will increase towards October when I'm due to replace a chap who's retiring.

To be honest with you mate.. it's not half bad and looks a whole pile better than Manchesters yellow/blue version. I tracked the Manchester paint down on a forum somewhere where he'd posted a WIP shot. One of the members commented that he thought the blue should be darker (I think for this paint) and the chap said you'd better take it off your system then! :-O I dunno to be honest. With the West Yorks paint.. the blue looks ok with white and would look fine if the blue were darker or lighter.. as a paint that is. As a 'Police' scheme.. I'm still not convinced  It's certainly more attractive than Manchesters though

Good luck for tonight. It's cleared up on Tony's old patch.. dull and horrible this morning.. tried to rain then tried to snow again but the rain won and believe it or not.. we've blue sky now. Isn't this country great! Better to be up there in the warm than on the deck chasing pond life ;)

To be honest mate.. I think we could do with more like you down on the deck. Perhaps the youth of today and general flotsam responsible for a lot of the grief would think twice if they thought they might get a clip round the earole as was the case years ago. Perish the thought though.. they have rights don't they.. the right to do as they please it would seem

Quick.. stow the soap box before I get going
