I tried to fully explain to ORBX what my problem was, and how I could put aircraft virtually anywhere except the very spot I wanted.
After a couple of suggestions which ignored what I had already told them, the Admin locked the topic with a comment that they are not running a scenery tuition course.
Eventually, I received a suggestion from the OzX forum about elevation. To cut a long story short, I raised the models 1 metre AGL, and they now are visible!
Now I need to ask permission to use static versions of models created by the good fellows at CBFS and other places. Some repainting will be needed to suit Moorabbin.
Here's what it looks like so far. I need to tweak the nth decimal places of latitude and longitude to nudge them into place, then squeeze some more into the slots (it's quite a close display)
So Dave, I can recommend George's suggestion of SAMM2 etc, though apparently EZ lets you nudge things around while looking at them, so would be quicker.
Itruly appreciate the CBFS help in this project.

They look great Mike

I don't think there's a problem using our models.. you can do what you like with them as long as you don't sell em. You can do that of course but I think we'd require a 'cut'

I take my hat off to you, Mike. You're doing an amazing job there. When you first expressed disappointment at not having the aircraft at the museum and reading the replies you got at ORBX I thought well, that's that. If they couldn't do it with all their experience, what chance would Mike have with no experience. And now look - aeroplanes! Good on yer, mate. What determination.

Having got this far, I can't see you giving up so good luck with finishing it off. Imagine having your home airport complete with you having contributed something like that?

When you've finished it there'll be more than a few Aussie ORBX members who'll snap your hand off for a copy!

Ian :)

Thanks to the helpful chaps on this forum and elsewhere, I've pushed the add-on about as far as I can.
Unable to rectify the Heron, I have one with the real life Lycoming engines - (sorry men, but that's what it has!) - but can't get the author, who seems to be off air.
I noticed that I didn't finish the stripes on the Bristol Freighter, but they will be done. EDIT 211212: Updated screen shot posted with amended stripes
Special thanks to Garry for his invaluable contribution!
EDIT:Same to Brian Franklin sorry, Brian, I didn't know that you were a member here until twenty minutes ago!

You must be feeling very proud of yourself, Mike. You should be, anyway! That looks simply marvellous. Now, just pop down to Moorabbin for us and take some photos so we can see how it looks in the RW

I hope you're going to post a pic on the ORBX forum. I'd love to see the reaction of those who said it couldn't be done and those who desperately wanted it to happen!

I don't think you could make it freely available for others without permissions from all the developers, which would be difficult as some of their original files have been changed. So posting a picture on the forum will definitely give us the opportunity to see grown men cry! I'd do it!

Ian :)

That defintely does look good Mike, and having looked at it from all side on good old Google Earth you've done a great job. Yes I agree with Ian, get that post up there.

BTW Merry Christmas

A certain satisfaction and thankfullness for all the help are the main feelings, Ian.
Posted the latest pic 21/12, Freighter corrected version to ORBX as instructed, Skipper!
Brian checked out Google Earth. It SHOULD look like that, 'cos that's what I've used as a reference. Paint based on web photos.

I saw your post on the Orbx forum, Mike. I see there are a couple of folks already who are looking forward to it as an update to the airport

Oh dear, what a shame, never mind
