The thing to think about is whether or not you use the stick specific software that comes with many of these. If your happy to use the Windows control panel to configure the stick, most will be compatible. If you prefer to use the manufacturers specific software, thats when you'll need a Windows 7 version of the software. Quite often you'll find that even if it doesnt say its compatible, if you check the manufacturers website, it will be and they will provide the software in a Windows 7 format.

I had a Logitech force feedback steering wheel which was bought when I had XP - since buying a new computer with Windows 7 I tried installing the Logitech Driver Software and guess what?....... It was not compatible with Win7. Having read on one Forum (can't remember which one now) Logitech were no longer supporting the steering wheel for Windows 7, only had it just over a year from new!!! - instead it meant having to buy another wheel ( unless of course I just put the USB in and used the wheel without force feedback which was 'orrible and too light to use, like trying to steer with the wheels off the ground)!!!!!

Apparently there were many users who were not happy with Logitech due to this. Is this a money making scheme from manufacturers to sell more of their products by not writing updated software for products to operate with new OS???

As for my 3D Extreme Pro Joystick (Logitech) it works brilliantly with Win 7 just by sticking the USB in as Garry said.

Hi Guys,
Well, my Logitech MOMO force feedback wheel and pedals worked with my old bangers from the tip under W98 and XP, then happily moved onto W7 without a murmur.
My CH FS yoke and rudder did the same, but force feedback is not a feature of this unit.
OK, it IS "The Lucky Country" after all.

EDIT Come to think of it, Nigel, I don't think I tried installing the driver. W7 did it all when I plugged it in. Maybe you could try that?
