I agree, the VC is different (different layout and items) and the IcarusGold model has more defined plating on the body.
Very true. And what guy would be crazy enough to place his own 'face' on the crew? This can't be the IcarusGold model....I think. :$

Brian

Update - Just read a post from IcarusGold. They swear that this is their model. They said the modeler just rebuilt the vc and crew. Amazing. :dunno:

No way these are the same models. Screenie of the freeware Duck and a screenie (taken from a video) of the payware Duck. Case closed imho. :agree:

So basically the guy from Icarusgold on SoH saw a Grumman Duck that was similar to their Grumman Duck and without even looking at it properly publicly declared it their stolen work?

He needs to visit http://www.specsavers.co.uk/

If someone created a Grumman Duck it's bound to look similar to another persons Grumman Duck or it wouldn't be a Grumman Duck.

Anyway, popcorn is here and drinks are on ice.

Indeed :agree: ...theorectically, if they are both sccurate they will look the same.

However this a considerably different, both as posted here and on other forums.

We had a chap here from Icarus (briefly) after their Rapide was released. No one likes to be told their baby is ugly but that really was a pig  Almost a Dh89 but not quite ;)

There is a thread ( now locked ) at SOH which shows side views of both models. Its clear as day they aren't the same.

Maybe it'll kick a few payware makers into upping the quality of their products when they get shown up by freeware.
