Roger, you can't be a cockney - earshot of Bow Bells and all that, although that legend is probably stretched a bit since the Germans bombed St May-le-Bow church in 1941 and it was'nt until 1956 that it was rebuilt with new bells. So according to the legend, no cockneys were born between those years. I was born in Hampstead, so I can't claim to be cockney. Dick Whitington supposedly heard the bells from Highgate though. I have done some family tree research and a lot of my ancestors were either cockney, or on the other side, from Lancashire. Yikes, that makes me half a *#@#$! northerner I suppose.dodger wrote:Hello,
