I did a list of paints for the VA aircraft.. none of which are things of outstanding natural beauty (you may have them already) but they're not bad from a distance

I've looked in ACM but to be honest, I'm not sure whatTF I'm looking at. The cowl flaps are group 25 and that's all I can tell you. I was hoping they might be a child of the main gear but they're not. Looking at them in the sim is deceptive too. From the side, they look flush but from any point aft, the gap appears. I try not to look too close

Hi mate
I don't know what you mean abiut the group or a child of whatever
The click box will, when activated, show you the other end of the animation
I think it's bottom left of the options
This will only show whether or not it's animated as if it's not you can forget it

Hello Mate..
As there was no obvious means of control for the cowl flaps, I hoped the group was a child of the main gear so.. when the gear went up, the flaps closed.. if that makes sense. In the event, they don't

The animation box you speak of is active (contains a tick) but it would be wouldn't it as there are animations all over the model. Obviously, if I knew how to use ACM.. the situation would be less confusing

Hi mate
Tis is the box...you have to reload anfter changing the setting.
Model with everything sort of closed up.......one end of the animation box unchecked
And the box selected gives the other end..that is all animation fully extended
So if the cowl flaps are animated they will be closed in one of them.

I see the page just like that and the animation end box already has a tick. I'm out of time now but I'll look again later. Tried to get the manual for it but the site the prog points to is up for sale and no longer active

Ain't that just my luck

God.. I'm late! OK.. I think I see what you mean. I got what I think were the 2 variations on a theme and the cowl flaps don't move on either

MS in its infinite wisdom reallocated Ctrl+shift+C/V to something else, something to do with screen shots I think so that combo is useless in FSX as is C and V,a lot of Fs9 aircraft used concorde visor for different animation Alphasim was one Ito and Mike Stone did too so none of the bomb door commands work in FSX.

Not sure what you mean there, Rich. Under the default key assignments, Ctrl+Shift+C/V operates the cowl flaps on aircraft in FSX, including the stock DC-3 and the Aerosoft Catalina. ( V on its own is assigned to taking screenshots.) It appears that in the case of the Alphasim Halifax, the flaps aren't moving because that animation isn't modelled. The bomb bay doors definitely do work, by pressing the spoiler key which is / on my system and I believe thats the default assignment too.

Paul ,you are right I was thinking the old Concorde visor extend and retract a number of authors used that for animations as no one used the Concord anyway.
Looked at in ACM and can see no animation there and the Alphasim readme says nothing about it either.
