No.. having spent a bit of time in both recently, I have to agree with Rick's comment. Much of what FSX can do is of little or no interest to me but native FSX models (if done well) do look considerably better in FSX than their FS9 counterparts.. which is just about what Ian said above. The old models neither look nor perform any better in FSX (in some cases, they're worse in the newer sim) so why 'go over' if what you fly isn't correctly represented
I only 'play' in FSX Ian.. I don't use it for day-to-day simming. I like the ships and 'trapping' on a moving object and I like GenXv2. You really can navigate VFR by using nothing more than a road map but that is a little difficult in a VC10 or 1-11

I don't go outside the UK in it so it's a nice diversion.. like Call of Duty every now and again
Having defragged my FSX drive overnight and read that article highlighted by Dan, FSX may be running a little better though I still got one 5sec pause while panning frantically outside. I also found that by setting the target framerate to unlimited as recommended in said article, I get a conflict with my onboard sound sometimes.. depending on the aircraft I'm in. This manifests itself as a 'knocking' sound audible every 2 or 3 seconds and the 'knock' coincides with a slight judder on screen. It did show rather dramatic framerates though.. mid to high 200's!

When I chopped to the Jetstream from the default Cessna, this dropped to around 120fps

In the event, I've dropped it to a locked 60fps though with our electrical supply being 50hz.. 50fps (if possible) might be a better option. We'll see
