if all goes as predicted, we'll have the airplane that is most suitable between these two airports, and the Silverwings service will be a reality again ;)
We already do...the Viscount 800 :hide:

BEA Buses for Heathrow in 1964 used to leave the West London Air Terminal towing a trailer, medium blue in colour(?), which carried passengers luggage. Very unwelcoming, draughty, place that terminal! The buses were not very comfortable either, just standard LT seating.

The idea was the trailer would be dropped off and the pax were taken their way to the boarding gate and the luggage was already checked in all ready to be lost.

Hope you don't mean 'On the buses' .. an old ITV comedy series with Reg Varney. It's currently doing the rounds (again) on ITV3 and has lost a lot of it's 'old world' charm 8)

Wow.. I was a boarding school brat in the sixties so I remember all too clearly the treks down to London and either the BEA or BOAC city 'terminals'. Then the long bus ride out to Heathrow (M4 didn't exist then).

The airport is looking spot-on too, my word it's all coming back to me now *-)
