Hiya Skip
Yeh.. I went digging and found the Shift+U addition but despite this, I couldn't find anywhere on either of Arks cat's to get the 'active' notification using the Skysim Vixen or the default Hornet. I've had the nose gear behind the shuttle, either side of the shuttle, in front of the shuttle and even on top of the shuttle but see nothing to indicate the cat is armed

You see now why I like flying helicopters in fSX
I don't have the Iris Phantom but I DO have the Alpha 'self-destruct-if you-manoeuvre-at-400kts' Scimitar (if I can find it). I'll have a go with that
EDIT.. no.. the Scimitar isn't finding it either. One thing though, the Scimitar is worse than I remembered
EDIT#2
Sorted. A new version of Ark on the old pc and an old version of Ark on the new pc
EDIT#3
NOT sorted.. well, not with the Skysim Vixen but fine with the Hornet. Anyone any ideas?

Hi Dave,
I have never seen Hermes (R12) previously. I note you call it Alpha (AlphaSim?). Can you please amplify on where you found Hermes.

Hi Bill..
HMS Hermes was released by Alphasim as part of a 'Falklands' set many moons ago.. so many moons ago, I can't actually remember which sim it was made for

It's not been on sale for as long as I can remember but DG got permission to use the model for FS9.. a copy of which is (or should be) floating around here somewhere.. this the original with the ski-jump

Dave,
I'm not 100% sure if the Sky Sim Vixen came with the catapult points or if Acceleration came out afterwards, in which case you'll have to ass them manually to the aircraft.cfg. Oh and if you're using the FS9 version of the Vixen you'll definitely have to add the points to the cfg. I'll see if I can dig some out although I'm not sure if I have the right computer with me!

Hiya Skip
Bugger.. that's something I'd forgotten about. The version I'm using in 'X' is the 'X' model so other than adding said points, it should be ok

Anything you can find much appreciated.. if and when

This
Code: Select all
[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 13.6, 0.0, -5.9
launch_bar_lug = 17.6, 0.0, -7.2
should do the trick, just paste it into the aircraft.cfg somewhere, I don't think it actually matters where....

What a 21 carat star you are Skip

Off to try that now
EDIT..
Works a treat Skip.. VMtks
It's been a comedy of errors on the new pc. First, an old version of ARK.. second, the cat launch still wouldn't work (I found the keys weren't allocated

sure can't remember adding them on the other pc but there you go) and finally.. no 'Launch Assist' entry for the Sea Vixen in the cfg. Everything that could possibly be wrong WAS

Ah well.. all sorted now

Dave do you want cat launch settings for any other aircraft ie the Scimitar, the Wyvern already has them so should be no problem there though if you have used it and gave up because of nose over replace the [tailhook] entry with this one.
[tailhook]
tailhook_length = 5.0
tailhook_position = -21.0, 0.0, -1.0
cable_force_adjust=6.0 //09

Hi Rich..
Tks for that. TBH.. I've binned the Scimitar and have just bought the Iris Phantom to replace it

Skip has already given me instructions for that little tinker so I should be ok but I'll look at the Wyvern again. At least I can fly it on the new pc without it disassembling itself in mid-air

Tell you what.. I'm looking forward to the Gannet. Didn't really go for Ito San's FS9 version for obvious reasons
