Perhaps I did the Alderney scenery an injustice. It does look very good.

Maybe that will be my next purchase. ;)

I better see how much money I have left after buying all that beer you lads recommended.

Hi Gents

As the O/P
my apologies for diverting the thread into a price related topic.

Just to clarify,
as The Western Isles package is 60cm/pixel scenery
it requires 3 DVDs, (as per England/Wales 1m/pixel for larger coverage areas),
hence the higher cost.

Probably down to the highly intricate watermasks,
which unlike England & Wales's minimal coastal boundaries,
in the Western Isles these are extremely complex.

Expect all subsequent 60cm packages to be priced accordingly.

EDIT
PS
Alderney is the work of the same guy, Darren,
who produced The Western Isles package.

With the rest of Scotland likely to cost the same (per square mile of land).. this will make Scotland more expensive than the 'complete' set of GenX volumes currently available. I'm sure the rich Scots (with all their oil revenue) will be able to afford it but it's a darned bitter pill to swallow for the rest of us. Superior detail or not.. me thinks this is a bridge too far and another reason not to use FSX ;)

Dave you might be tempted when GEX Europe comes out! It isn't photoreal but it's looking very good and is much much cheaper per square mile. Also have you seen what the UT guys are doing with Alaska - so many reasons to make that switch  (if I keep on you'll either ban me or possibly give in; I have a cunning plan :OB: )

Regards,
Chris

I run UT Canada/Alaska for FS9 mate and it makes one hell of a difference so I'm already au fait with the quality of their products. Very little bought for FSX I'm afraid.. mainly Aerosoft freebies of FS9 upgrades. One day maybe ;)

As you well know our legendary profligacy with our oily bawbees is a constant source of pleasure to hard-up landlords the length and breadth of Auchenshoogle High Street. Sadly since we blew most of it on the hideous £414m monstrosity that houses Mad Ec and the Holyrood Heidbangers, we have had to trim our budgets to the occasional piece of Alphasim Freeware. :$

Now down to £20. Soon be £10 me thinks!

Even £10 is too steep without the rest of, well pretty much all of the rest of Scotland.
