In FS9.. the VC is built as part of the model so you end up with one big model which in turn can drag frame rates down. 'I believe' that it's different in FSX. The model is one part and the VC is another and although joined, you have two models 'in effect' so.. when you're flying from the VC, you're using less resources as you're only using the VC model. I don't fully understand it to be honest with you but I'm sure I read something along the lines of what I've just said. In theory.. you can make a model for FSX and someone else can add a VC.. I think It's all foreign to me mate

RE the VC's in FSX, your spot on Dave. You can still use one big model file with everything in, but most guys who are developing native FSX models will have separate model for the VC's (you might have one for each seat in something like a trainer) and the aircraft model itself. Also, when these models are used as AI, they are more efficent as they don't load the VC model at all.

Hi Nick. As far as I know there isn't a freeware 732 model with a VC.

The Tinmouse project is an advanced 2D, FS9 panel which is designed to work with either the freeware model by Erick Cantu or the Tinmouse model which is available as a separate download from Avsim. Loads of paints for both models are available.

Yes I agree Dave when I had the stupidity in my weaker moment and used FSX I found that VC mode actually was giving a more fluid sim with higher frame rates than using the 2D panel. Another one to add to the list of why fix something when it aint broke..Oh I would have loved to have stayed with FSX if only they had not torn it away from FS9 like a limb from a racing greyhound and then left it dragging behind as far as compatability and FS9 add-ons are concerned
But they sold it didnt they and it must have been a success.....Oh silly me look what happened to the development team.....

I love the 737- 2 panel, not many images of the panel on the net though. Am toying with making a home cockpit panel. would love to be able to base it on the 737-200 . came across this site with some great pictures of the throttle http://www.737throttle.com

Anyway - if you intend building a 737 cockpit you might want to check out this site first click here. It covers absolutely everything to do with 737s in great detail. You should find everything you need to help you.
