Love the Winston analogy! I have to confess, "The Germans" was perhaps my favourite episode. It has the talking moose head (voice provided by Manual) with such memorable scenes as the Major inquiring if it Japanese and Fawlty responds, "I think it's Canadian, Major" The Major looks flabergasted and replies "I didn't think the Canadians were as clever as that1"
The scene where Fawlty has a confrontation with the nurse is classic "You don't need a doctor, you need a bloody plastic surgeon" and his reaction when he meets the doctor is hillarious. All that even before the Germans arrive. "Don't mention the war." And when they do, I laugh myself senseless. "However did they win?"
The best situation comedy of all time in my book!
