Its the same fuel guage that is in later Taylorcraft BC12Ds and your answer is YES it does
a fairly good impression of a artifical horizon in turns

My system is usually setup as 'Custom' with all of the top LH sliders on 'Easy'

Because.. I don't think having the sliders full right really IS as real as it gets mate. You ever tried flying a helicopter with the sliders set so?? If helicopters really are this difficult to fly, then RW helo pilots get nothing but my utmost admiration ;-) I know that Rick usually set's his models up with sliders hard right but many developers don't. As Dave M wasn't seeing the J1 go nose over on the brakes.. I'm guessing his sliders aren't hard over either ;-)

Hi Dave, I know what you mean regarding helicopters as they are inherently unstable machines at the best of times but, on the odd occassions I fly them that is the only time the slider for realism is set at 50 - 60% so as to maintain as much control as possible.

Helicopters cant fly, they're just so ugly the Earth repels them :lol:

I have no idea here my sliders are actually, will have to check and see if they need moving.

I usually have my realism sliders set to halfway having read somewhere that fully-right was not realistic . The article claimed that MS had built that setting into FS9 to provide a more exciting experience for the younger computer gamers.
However, I was severly beaten about the head last night when on Skype with Leif & Horsey , for being a whimp - turned them up to full and promptly crashed the old gal. In future I will attempt to remember to use 'full' for beta-testing but will set it back to my half-way position for normal flights.
A new FDE is now being trialled.

The secret IS to go for the lowest common denominator Dave and mid-way suits most things. Part 2 of the secret is to inform the beta testers what settings you're using :lol: For my part.. with the sliders full right, the J1 flies in still air as it does with them cranked down using but real weather. As real as it gets... who knows :dunno: RW pilots rarely (if ever) get to fly in the completely sterile conditions Fsim can produce so it's 6 of one ;-)

Before I get accused of wimp calling further

In my own defence I seem to recall certain worthies around here saying EVERYTHING (including all the display functions) maxed when beta testing
to make sure that the model still produced reaasonable frame rates and still performed -- The Argosy/748/780 and Freighter all spring to mind
(God knows the Superfreighter in that situation tried my old rig to the max). The Auster as DaveB pointed out performs the same at half or full.
