Regarding the interior of the canopy, the quilted texture is there but it's not showing up that well.

The fuzzy stuff looks like a badly masked paint job. Can't remember seing it like that on 607 or 558

The panels looks bloody excellent though.

Hi Paul..

I think a lot of this is how the temp of your monitor is setup mate. Granted.. the window edges aren't crystal clear but I see them on my monitor ;-) As I mentioned earlier.. the Vulcan FD isn't the brightest of places to be even with the sun shining in. I doubt it's possible to take shots without some form of lighting (additional lighting). The fuzziness around the windows is reminiscent of how they degrade.. eg, on museum examples.. especially ones left outside subject to constant UV attack. We have similar probs with the windows on EP at Brooklands. I don't think the same thing would be seen on 'in service' aircraft unless they'd been in service a rather long time!
Even if the Iris Vulcan has a 2D panel, I guess it'll still use the VC for traditional panning so unless the sun is at the right angle.. the inside will probably remain dark.

This is my theory anyway ;-)

There is some grime around the window edges. Everyone liked it during beta, but obviously it can be amended with a few simple clicks of the mouse via editing of the vc glass texture if you're interested. If anyone would like it I'll check with David and then put this file up for download for those who prefer completely clean windows. Until then if you've purchased and want the completely transparent glass texture with no dirt drop me a PM.

Dave, thanks. I must say I'm only talking from what I can see in someone else's screen shots, and I have been unable to set up an account at Iris in order to buy it and look for myself. No doubt the flight sim world is flocking to their door to get this, so I'll give it a day or two.

Chris, I really think the clear and sharp-edged windows that you show are much better. It would be nice to be able to adjust them as you say.

Okay okay...we have textures on the inside of the canopy, and clear windows are a possibility...I'm starting to breathe easier now. And Ben is right, that panel is gobsmackingly good! Look at some of those close-ups of it...just fabulous!

Me too Paul ;-) . I don't have the model and as it's FSX only.. I doubt I'll be getting it any time soon :-( One of the major gripes I have with VC orientated models is the tint on the windows making it darned difficult to see out.. for me anyway. As I'm not the worlds greatest VC fan (as if anyone didn't know that here!) this is another nail in the FSX coffin for me. Certain aircraft require you to be in the VC for landing in order to see the deck and I can't be doing with grubby glass adding to my displeasure

Certainly a nice looking model and the only real option for FSX users so good luck to em all

Here's another little vid, the smoke has been edited a touch since then. No internals on this one, but I'll try and grab a screenshot when the sun is shining in to show the interior canopy!

Hmmm I haven't had any problem with 'dirty glass' hindering my views of the outside world in FSX so far. I have Dave G's Beaufighter, and A2A's Bf-109 and P-40, and there are no problems looking out of them. Okay, thats not a huge collection, and I'm really holding off till I can afford a system that plays with FSX as a cat does with a mouse.

Dave, remind me...have you got TrackIR 4 ? I know we have had this conversation before, but I can't help thinking the ability to look at a guage simply by moving your face closer to your monitor would entice you into the world of VC-Only flying. It certainly did for me.
