T6, If you mean the Bucc landing and the Phantom take off on the main deck I think they're CGI. Haven't been in the island section for a while so if you're talking about stuff in there you may be right. Deliberately didn't go to the model show as I haven't got room to store the models I haven't made yet!

Yep.. most definately CGI ;-) You get a bit of real footage at the end when you supposedly go up on the lift

If you've not been there for 12months or so Skip.. the 'Carrier' experience has changed a little bit (inside the island for example.. TFT's replace the old tv's showing your host/guide) but the rest is pretty much as was

How can it be a museum if it's got better IT than the front line squadrons?!

Umm, I must admit to not keeping up with reading my posts. Only just noticed this one tonight. I realise the ones on the carrier deck are computerised, I should have been a little bit more clear with my initial post - I meant the ones at the end of the tour where you go into the darkened room, the blast doors go down and they show a film with a strobing Wessex effect of aircraft leaving and arriving on the Ark. The wind gets up and a Bucc goes off the side of the ship.......believe this was a redundant airframe and was 'lost' purely for the film.
When it all finishes, you descend back into the Museum alongside the workshops where this time it was the Wildcat instead of the Corsair there.
Don't seem to come away with the right things at the model show there. The February one seems to be a lot better than the Autumn one and this time bought kits that I already have - Heller T-6G Texan and T-28 Fennec (have about 8 Fennecs already - but hey this was in the original packaging and a Airfix Auster AOP.6 - this because its VX113 at Eggesford which I'm fortunate to fly in on a regular basis.
I have way to many kits at home and think in the near future that most will become loft insulation as dont get around to building them. Even my TSR2s will ascend upwards me thinks. Tomorrow am going to Eggesford and giving away some Revell kits to a local lad that hangs around the airfield. They're only going to gather dust in my house, so better if they went somewhere that they will be appreciated.
Best wishes to all,
Martin

If you look closely it's actually an S.1 that goes over the side, I think painted specially for the occasion, so certainly redundant! Apparently it's still used as a flight safety film as one of the flights has the DVD of it.
