Hi Steve.. et-al
No shine at all for me either (GF6800GT). Missed the Enterprise wire (I generally do) but got Ark first time ;-) Unfortunately.. my ocean flatten appears go have gone haywire as the deck is now at sea level. Wonder if it's the latest FSUIPC as this hasn't happened before  Anyway.. that's incidental :doho:

Dave, re Ark flatten is that in FSX ? I have land up to the deck Fs9 flattens do not work in FSX, still looking to fix mine even though I have the moving version steaming around Manila Bay and Subic with no probs

Hiya Rich
No mate.. good old FS9 for me. Absolutely no idea what's happened. No new scenery in that area at all. The only thing recently changed was FSUIPC to conform with the latest VA client  Odd but my Vanguard throttles don't work as prescribed with the new FSUIPC either. Progress.. what progress??

Dave, have a look at this thread, not much there but it may give insight, will fire up Fs9 to check if anything has stopped working in my setup, I have the latest FSUIPC and SP3 installed.

Dave, just ran Fs9 in Manila bay everything ok all flattens work ok on all the fleet, I am using FSUIPC ver 3.75, think that is the latest. Ver 4.xx is I think for FSX only ?
FSX moved the goal posts and Fs9 flattens do'nt work, somehow I need to get the xml syntax for the flatten switch

I'm not saying the bird is ultra-high gloss, but as long as you get the canopy reflections (as in Garry's shot), the shine should be working. I suppose it depends on time of day and location flown in if you're going to see much of the gloss, but as I said, it does seem to be working for some of the chaps over at the Outhouse so I'm not too worried about it now.
For the record, the maps are just standard extended 32 bits, not even dds.

Hi Steve
I think it's fine as it is
I'm not saying it should be shinier just that it is not that shiny and perhaps not as shiny as you see it but any more in my opinion would be too much especially in the way the non light shows shine
Your comment on the textures being BMP 32 bit not DDS , I thought they could only be BMP not DDS for FS9?.

First (short) look at her....
Steve, on the start up effect, if viewed from different angles, the smoke seems to come out from several different places! Is this intentional? Is there also a way that the effect could be built into the start sequence via the buttons or CNTLplusE start shortcut?
I have no troubles with the 'shine' running an ATI card.
On a personal matter of taste, I am not a big fan of the 'flames' appearing inside the orrafices. To me they look a touch
'Noggin the Nog' in appearance.

Hi Rich..
Latest FSUIPC is 3.82 although the actual build number 'inside' is slightly lower. I'll revisit it today at some point ;-)
WinXPSP2, FS9.1 btw
