Great to see young 'Charlie' at work at last! What a job he has landed (no pun intended!); I agree about the gloves Dave, 'white ones every time', shows people you have been 'busy'! That big undercarriage lever looks like it was always intended to be operated by a co-pilot too

Brilliant Pictures Tonks thanks for sharing

Oh so we have two RAF VC-10 pilots on here Nice :tab: I hope when the RAF retire there VC-10's they Tour the UK  I was hoping they would do pleasure flights like they did on the last Concorde
flights :prayer: :prayer:
I just hope our lords and masters let her stay around long enough for me to have a year or two in the left hand seat one day.
Maybe you could start the VC-10 to the Sky after the RAF retire them ;-)

One other thing is why do you wear white gloves when flying ? Don't see airliner pilots wearing them or is it an RAF thing?

Matches the knuckles...

On a serious note they have a range of functions. Particularly pertinent in the pics above, they provide a level of grip on the control column, which would otherwise have been dripping with my sweat!

Normally we only wear them for take off and landing on the 10.

Oh right thank you for that information Charlie CHEERS I was thinking it was so that you dont wear the paint off the control column  :doho: Yeah I see what you mean now by if you have sweat on your hands and you slip and the control column goes with you it wont be nice.

Well have fun flying the 10 :flying:
