Just like to point out Chris regarding the Alphasim pricing policy. None of the freelance AS Team devs had/have any say in deciding the price of their own models. That's decided by 'The Management'. And yes I agree prices are far too high of late.

I agree fully, MickeyD. I often only lurk around on these AS threads, because I know they're such a touchy subject with regards to the CBFS community. I've bought scores of AS products in years past...I think the second bit of payware I ever bought was their MiG-25. Even to this day, I can't fault AS for their choice of subject matter (including the recent civvie releases)...as they still fill a niche that no other payware plane maker does, and still interest me. However, I just have a hard time stomaching the notion of dropping nearly $50 USD for certain models that still basically have a bunch of eye-candy and nothing more than 'ctrl-E' functionality. If we're talking $25-$30, then no problem...I could definitely be convinced of parting with my hard-earned cash for a model that interests me (ie: the original C-5...which released I believe at a then-record price of $30). Beyond that threshold, and I draw a line. We'd have to be talking PMDG or Level-D type functionality at that point...which is not a market AS caters to.

Consequently, I can't recall the last bit of AS ware I've bought. The F-8 maybe or MiG-23 maybe? :dunno: A long time ago in a land far far away...

Rant over. Feel free to tar & feather me now.

In all fairness here justifying the price of AS products, you should of noticed with many recent releases the inclusion of TSS soundpacks (of which sell for a good few dollars).

Doesn't matter Ben

Some of their models have been released with serious errors not picked up on beta testing which makes them poor at any price.

Anyone trying to point this out gets hauled over the coals

I understand your point entirely Garry...... I just want to know why the prices are as high as they are, and if so justify the reasoning behind it (remaining neutral at all times :worried: ).
