The local BBC News says ... "
A decision on Sunday is expected later " ... so that's probably why.

Ahh.......H&S....forgot about them.....let us hope that the severely waterlogged ground dries out enough for H&S in 24 hours then....
I am not going but I feel for those who must be severely disappointed what a blow......

I've got the option of doing Flying Legends though, but that's only if my 'chauffeur' is willing to. He's not so big on warbirds.
Of course, I've also still got the option of continuing with where I left off - should the show go ahead on Sunday. Freeload from the campsite (no other choice), then stay over and watch the departures from the PnV.
Or both, which would be ideal.
Either way, I'm not too happy!

Blimey! What a decision to have to make, but a wise one I feel.
Waterlogged ground + The Vulcan effect = The Somme
It took forever to leave Waddington last Saturday as it had reached full capacity with cars actually having to been turned away. It doesn’t bear thinking about, what it would have been like if Waddington had been staged this weekend after a week of rain.

Leuchars has been held in some pretty atrocious weather previously, although the ground has a higher than usaul (due to where it is) level of sand in it, which doubtless helps. I have to say looking at the TV earlier, I am not entirely surprised at the news, unless everyone went in Landys or tractors it would just be lunacy....

With so few airshows now held in the UK, particularly "official" RAF ones it's always a major blow when something like this happens. One imagines this was the last thing anyone wanted after so many displays were rained off last year.
Here's hoping for some sun for Leuchars in September!

And not much fun buying them in the rain either
With any luck, September should be a good month this year, as the summer so far has been cr*p. Usually works that way - or at least that's my theory....

And, the Leuchars site has been updated - we will have the Typhoon and Spitfire, and I am delighted to see an F3 4-ship display as well has popped up
I can smell the candy floss, hotdogs and aviation fuel already
