But seeing all that activity and all the meeters-and-greeters seeing off the bucket-and-spaders makes it feel just like it used to (on the odd day when it didn't rain! I think that was July 18th 1975, but I expect there is a commemorative plaque somewhere in Manchester if it hasn't rusted away

). Which reminds me of a T-shirt I once saw in Seattle. The Pacific NorthWest has a similar climate to Manchester and is similarly famous for it. The T-shirt read:
Seattle - 360 days of rain and a few weirdos. Sums it up perfectly
I still don't share DM's love of that horrid redwhiteandblue livery and in 1975 I'm sure there were still plenty of the classic and hybrid paintjobs about to make the scene easier on the eye. Perhaps one day, when the world slows down a bit, I shall have to learn about AI to fix things to how I would like to remember them :doho:
