Hi Jason,

It's difficult to reason 'why' a particular model was/is chosen as there are so many factors involved in the process. It could be that as it was such an unusual subject and one not replicated in fsim for a long time, it would be a winner (as in break even) in that particular market. It might also be that they had sufficient info to put it together where other, perhaps more obvious choices don't have the necessary info.. yet. It might also be that some of these 'more obvious' choices (and who's to say what they are) have been done to death already.

Granted, the Scimitar would be an unlikely choice but.. note that they already have a Sea Vixen (albeit an old model by todays standards) AND they have HMS Eagle on the blocks. You have to decide what era you want the ship to be in and then furnish it with the correct aircraft for that time.. that is if you have all the necessary info available. Eagle is expected to come with AI Scimitars and that package will compliment the 'standalone' Scimitar and Sea Vixen. Plenty over there are shouting for a new Bucc so you never know.. a new one might turn up in the fullness of time.

Why the Scimitar.. well, why not :) I'd have preferred a Sea Hawk but given the strategy of the project as a whole.. a Scimitar will do nicely ;-)

Hi Guys

I really don't see what it's all about.

Phil & Danno just need to have a proper Beta team.

Pure & simple.

from the shots of the Simitar it looks bloody good to me.

the few models i have from Alphasim are great.

i think the point was the models are released too early every time and require a patch to fix all the errors 2 weeks later.

which is so easy to fix.

Regards
Rick

Well, in that particular case some people where pointing out that the original model had wrong missiles, then they proudly showed that this issue was corrected, a nice gesture i might add. Your response to that offer was, in my opinion unesessary, cracking jokes about one of the comments made here about simians and nuts. It was easily understood that you where to provoke something and didn't added any constuctive input.

Your immidiate reaction was to withdraw your excellent paint of the Venom, in my opinion childish, making others pay for your problem with Alphasim as some are accusing Alphasim to let others pay for some rather rude and unconstuctive criticism here. I'm happy that when the fog settles dawn you reconsidered this "punishment"

My repaint, my time and effect, i can do what i want, its freeware, i have no pressure to release it. Live with it.

Im now completely fed up with the whole thing so i will say no more on this subject.

Who ever threw the first pebble is irrelevant now, we moved to stones, then sticks, knives, guns, what next ?. People shout louder and louder to get themselves heard, and then, when the babble stops for just a second, the wise old man in the corner will whisper something profound and we'll all think, ummm, yeah hes right.

Right now theres only losers, Alphasim are loosing out, CBFS are loosing out, innocent repaint collectors are loosing out, there is no winner here.

Best

Michael

The thing thats p1ssed me off most about this whole sorry affair is that our forum has had a load of abuse hurled at it as a single entity. The constructive comments were fine, but we've done the "they need a proper beta team" and as Rick, Dave, Myself Garry and many others have said, this is the crux of our complaint.

The personal slights have no place here, wether that be towards Alphasim or any other poor sod.

Can we please leave this, its dead, topic closed.

And next time, can we please make points about the model and not dive into personal vendettas against others. Frankly I don't give a damn how childish Alphasim or anyone else has been on their forum, I really don't care. I do care that cbfs has now the a negative reputation in some quarters which will take an age to rebuild.

I AM locking the thread. It has done more damage than good to all concerned. :bandit:

THis is why I locked the other thread as it had moved on from the original subject and was going arround in circles.

It then starts getting personal.

This is happening again

So I'm locking this one too

You and me both Jason..and on that note let's tie this up.

Enough has been said on the nature and expectations of payware versus freeware...

Enough has been said from both sides of the fence to be able to understand each other's situation and opinion...not just this thread on this forum but other threads on this forum.......and other threads on other forums...how long does this have to go on?

Life is too short my friends....lets move on.....
